By the way, referring Miss Chihaya and Miss Kamiyo is referring Mr Tatutagawa, the Sumo wrestler. A story of tragic love among them was written in verse by Ariwara Narihira:

Chihaya refuses, Kamiyo turns a deaf ear to,
Tatutagawa who gives no tofu refuse to,
Diving into the water, Towa?

and they made a frivolous distinction. Mr Tatutagawa returned to his hometown after the incident and became a tofu maker. Do not repeat the same folly, everybody.

For those inexperienced and who do not know Miss Chihaya, mistress Chihaya's secular name is "Towa" and she is a 18 years old lady at brothel Oomojiya. She is the mistress who takes pride in her ranking at the list of prostitutes on the official bulletin board by the great gate of Yoshiwara. She never come down to the second. Miss Kamiyo is 16 years old brand-new. Both are famous Koya poetess. They offer hospitality without making their eyebrows, faces, nor teeth up. Geisha in Fukagawa mimicked this later.

Miss Chihaya loves an insect and is renowned entomologist whose knowledge extends to software bugs to bookworms. She is popular among insect loving dukes and barons and her fan club, Red Rod Club, has been organized by them. Today's her absence is because of it. It is said that an uncommon insect was found in the shogun's harem and she was called in. Miss Chihaya hesitated since the meeting at second floor of noodle house Chikurinan by Koyta poets is scheduled today. She worte;

Miss Chihaya was moved to tears and went to the shogun's harem. (It is good not having make-up as you can shed tears without worrying to lose face)
