Features
LazyLinksLimited is a perl script to have your guest adds an URL on your link page freely. He can choose where, among many categories, it is placed and how it is described. Though you decide the categories he can choose from and delete whatever inappropriate entry you found. If you can use SSI, you want to take InstantDirectory, another link cgi.

(But this LazyLinksLimited is made of PHP.)

DownLoad
You can choose either LHA, ZIP or TAR compression file. Click to download LazyLinksLimited (LHA), LazyLinksLimited (Zip) or LazyLinksLimited (tar). InstantDirectory (LHA), InstantDirectory (Zip) or InstantDirectory (tar).

Source Code
If you cannot download and open compressed files, or you just want to see the source code, check the CGI source (link_cgi.txt). To use it, you also download Add URL Form and Link Page, and change the name of CGI source from link_cgi.txt to link.cgi

Setting up
You need to modify the cgi script. You make it fits your server and make it works. This is must. More, you make it works the way you like. And how much you can do depends on how much you already know. Therefore, I strongly recommend you identify your experience. If you;

  1. don't know anything about HTML
  2. know very little about HTML
  3. have some HTML knowledge
  4. know HTML in and out
click where applicable. I put different colors where you may make modification. And the colors indicate if the modification is must or optional, easy or difficult. Even if you are quite willing to learn, start from where you are now. GOOD LUCK!

Maintenance
Having your own link page sometimes requires maintenance. Though it can be lots easier than you add links manually. Since your guests add their URLs, you do not add what you think fit. Instead you delete URLs unfit.

To make maintenance easy, always have a backup of last-modified-link-page. When a new URL is posted, the cgi can send you a mail notice. If the notice says that it did not work right, or if you find inadequate link added, use admin page to fix it.

Security tips
You can modify the cgi to ban specific access.

Further, it is a good idea that you read a book about internet security, have one or two additional security measures and keep your security measures secret.

Yet if you learn something from a hacker, the most frequently used technique to trespass is "social engineering". Be careful with your wording. Do not offend people.

Warranty
No warranty. (Saying so however, the most of case a software does not work is you do not know or misunderstand how it works. If in trouble, you may go Question and Answer. Tough I do not guarantee you get an answer, nor it works right.)
